Through my writing projects and technology business ventures I’ve been fortunate to have a front seat in the unfolding of a new industrial revolution.
Since 1998 I’ve been the computer expert on ABC Sydney 702 and nationally on ABC Nightlife. I appear regularly on Sky News and various other TV and radio outlets commenting on business and technology issues.
Online I am one of the longest standing bloggers for Smart Company, having filed a weekly column since shortly after the site’s founding in early 2007.
Freelance writing
As a freelance writer, I’ve been a regular paid contributor to Business Spectator and IT News along with writing assignments for private publications.
Private clients have included Comms Day, Microsoft, Xero and IBM. I’ve written custom content for various businesses and government organisations, created live blogs of industry events and developed material for commercial social media sites.
My published books include e-Business – Seven Steps To Online Success (published by John Wiley & Sons), various Australian Dummies guides and the Small Business Guide to IT (published by Allen & Unwin).
Australia’s top business blog
The Decoding the New Economy blog has been a finalist in the Australian Writers’ Centre’s Best Business blogs for two consecutive years and is regularly cited as one of Australia’s most influential business blogs.
My particular area of interest is how business and society is evolving in the connected economy, I also write on IT security issues, smartphones, family computer issues, business technology and the internet of machines.
Contact me if you’re interested in having me write for your publication or company.
